Portable vehicle dynamics investigation device and software design

Brake system is a critical component of vehicle dynamics. Vehicle manufacturers, technical services and independent R&D institutions want to study brake system's behavior on vehicles to make root cause analysis of field issues. Today, instruments that are used for these investigations cannot independently inspect the subsystems such as the brake, air system, tire etc. Also these instruments are not mobile and cannot be used for field investigations. In this study a new measurement device and software was developed and vehicles were inspected on the field. Variables were measured in real field conditions and analyzed. The data was used for root cause investigation for common problems such as low brake performance, vehicle pulling.
