Investigation of quinolone antibiotic residues in chicken eggs

Abstract (EN)
The objective of this thesis was to evaluate the presence of some quinolone antibiotics (marbofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, enrofloxacin, danofloxacin, sarafloxacin, difloxacin, oxolinic acid, nalidixic acid, flumequine) residues which are not allowed in chicken eggs. For this purpose, a total of 102 eggs batch, (20 batch farm eggs sold in markets, 30 batch farm eggs sold in bazaar, 32 batch peasant eggs and 20 batch organic eggs) were examined. Six eggs were chosen randomly from each of batchs, mixed and analyzed by liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method (Verdon, 2005), As a result of the analyses, enrofloxacin and ciprofloxacin residues were identified in one batch of each group. In other words, of the 102 eggs batch analyzed for residues of quinolone, four samples (3,9%) were positive. It is concluded that these antibiotics, which are not allowed to use in laying hens according to administrative legislation, have been used illegally.
