Factors affecting selection of suppliers and an application in hospitals in Northern Iraq

The aim of this study is to obtain that how existing suppliers are perceived by hospital business and determining the variables between hospitals and suppliers to establish long-term relationship. In this scope, firstly, it has been made literature review related to supply chain management to establish theoretical infrastructure of this study. Then, it has been surveyed the product-related factors affecting choice of suppliers (brand, quality, cost and importance of the product) and the effects of organizational factors (quality of sales personnel, logistics performance, firm size, image, substitutability, flexibility-innovativeness) on reliability of supplier and customer satisfaction by questionnaire. In Northern Iraq, it is to analyzed the data which obtained from 69 people in 44 hospitals. According to research findings, there is an effect on reliability of supplier and customer satisfaction by quality of supplied good, supplier logistics performance, supplier firm size, supplier image, supplier substitutability.
