Abstract (EN)

Wastewaters of textile industry have high pollutant content, and also includes a lot of organic and inorganic materials. Also because textile industry is one of the most pollutant industries, the effect on the environment is significant. Purification with advanced oxidation processes recently became an important topic due to the difficulties of purification with traditional methods. In this research we looked at the characterization and PS/UV, H2O2/UV, O3 and O3/H2O2 oxidation of wastewater which was from textile industry. During PS/UV oxidation, after 120 minutes %70 COD removal efficiency which is the legal limits were achieved. After 15 minutes, %94 colour removal was achieved and after 5 hours %76 TOC removal was observed. In H2O2/UV process after 150 minutes %86 removal efficiency was reached, which is the legal limit. However in PS/UV color removal was slower and after 180 minutes %94 efficiency was observed. After 5 hours TOC removal was %74. Ozone oxidation was more effective in high pH values (11) however %27 COD and %75 colour removal efficiency could not be reached. The H2O2 added, during the O3/H2O2 was inadequate in COD removal compared to High pH ozone process. With the %15 COD and %80 colour removal efficiencies legal limits could not be reached. In the end, with the data in hand, it was observed that the most efficient process was PS/UV oxidation. However compared to H2O2/UV process, PS/UV was the more expensive one.
