Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research, is to examine the contribution of upcycling and digitalization opportunities to the environment in terms of sustainability through the textile and fashion industry. In the textile and fashion industry, with the effect of fast fashion and indirectly unconscious consumption in the last few years, it encourages a lot of profuct changes and purchases in clothes, fabrics, shoes and accessories and similar products. Today according to natural resource use, manufacturing, operation of factories and 2014 research data, textile waste covers 5% of landfills in the World. One of the main goals of sustainability is to be aware of environmental factors, reduce waste and convert the waste produced by the production process using recycling and upcycling methods include it in the production and reuse process. Compared to recycling, in upcycling the product seen as waste without any industrial production process or changes made on a used product can be easily applied in environments such as home, office or workshop with repair and redesign. There is no product that cannot be converted forward. Advanced conversion compared to recycling, it does not cause energy, raw material, carbon footprint, water footprint and environmental pollution. Accordingly, instead of making unconscious consumption with consumption frenzy and indirectly damaging the natüre, sustainable developing technology in the textile and fashion industry, 7R elements, upcycling and recycling etc. With the development of applications, excessive consumption can be prevented. In this way, the desired waste reduction, unconscious consumption and environmental pollution can be prevented by personalized and orginal products instead of disposable products. In this research, the harms caused by the specified elements will be examined in the textile and fashion industry, as well as the possibilities of digitalization and upcycling applications thar arise together with innovative approaches.
