Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the public speaking skills of individuals according to their professions. The main argument of the study poses the question "What are the perceptions of the study group participating in the research on the matter of public speaking skills according to their professions?" "Case study", one of the qualitative research methods is used in the study. Participants accommodating in Kutahya, working in different occupational groups make up the study group. In this context, forty participants in total took part in the study including ten lawyers, ten teachers, ten engineers, and ten company employees. Data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. In the analysis process of this data, collected from the questions in semi-structured interview form, content analysis method was used. By tabulating the data gathered, frequencies and percentages were determined and interpreted within the framework of determined themes. In the study, it is concluded that participants working in the occupational groups of teachers, lawyers, engineers, and company employees need to improve their public speaking skills as it contributes positively to their profession.
