Abstract (EN)

In the present study, it was aimed to compare the social functioning, insight level and drug compliance of the patients enrolled in the Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) according to their frequency of participation in CMHC program. The sample of the study consisted of 105 patients (10 female and 95 Male) registered for at least one year as of March 2017 in Şahinbey Community Mental Health Center and diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and unspecified psychosis not due to a substance or known physiological condition. The age range of the participants was 20-70 and the average was calculated as 42.70 ± 10.07. Sociodemographic information of the participants was collected, and The Social Functioning Scale, Schedule for Assessing the Three Components of Insight, Morisky's Ouestions-Self Report Measure of Adherence were administered. The study results revealed that patients with high frequency of participation in CMHC program had a better level of social functioning and insight, and patients with low level of drug compliance had significantly less participation than those with moderate and high compliance. The findings were discussed in accordance with the literature.
