Abstract (EN)
This thesis titled "Feminist Artificial Intelligence in the Projection of the Problem of Gender Inequality" deals with the idea of feminist artificial intelligence and data feminism in the context of the problem of gender inequality. It is of great importance to reveal the relationship between artificial intelligence and gender inequality. Feminist AI and data feminism is interested in how feminist theory and practice can contribute to the field of AI. Today, social order stereotypes can be reproduced as algorithmic stereotypes with artificial intelligence technologies. Feminist AI and data feminism aims to examine gender inequality as a precursor to all other examples of social stereotypes, and to examine broader power and power relations in the field of data. In the first part of the thesis, the problem of gender inequality will be explained, what gender stereotypes are, how they are formed and what effects they have, and the place of feminist thought in gender studies and how feminist thought approaches this problem will be discussed in theoretical and practical aspects. In the second part, the relationship between artificial intelligence, as an innovation and innovative technology, and stereotypes of social order will be analyzed. In this examination, it will be evaluated that the stereotypes of the analog world are directly or indirectly transferred to the virtual world by artificial intelligence through machine learning, and then can be used again to affect the analog world. In this context, the thesis will also seek an answer to the question of what feminist AI studies and data feminism mean and how they can contribute to the field of AI. While seeking this answer, various examples from real life will be examined.
