Çankırı village names in terms of toponymy

This work, which was studied as a master's thesis, is a toponymic analysis of the village names of Çankırı province. In the introduction of our study, name, toponymy, onomastics and the studies conducted in these fields were examined in detail. In the toponymy part of our study, Özcan Başkan's classification was taken as basis. The equivalents of the categorized Çankırı village names in the Turkish Dictionary and other dictionaries were given, and then the connection with Old Turkish was tried to be determined. A brief geographical, cultural, etymological and morphological analysis of the place name was made. Toponymy, Old Turkish and all studies in this field have been analyzed in detail and used as a source. The aim of this study is to serve the field of linguistics and toponymy and to contribute to the history of Çankırı in this field.
