Abstract (EN)
In this study, aged (incubated) eucalyptus and green waste biochar materials produced by using pyrolysis method were applied to soil with advanced salinity and very low water potential at 0-10-20-40 t/ha doses. The wheat plants were first grown in the soil and then the corn plants were grown. In the study aimed at reducing the adverse effects of salinity by biochar applications, it has been observed that biochars are significantly effective in the soil, especially during the second vegetation. Drastic decreases in the sodium, calcium and magnesium contents of the plants were observed. In connection with this, the corn plant showed an increase in the degree of staining and biomass formation. This study, conducted at an advanced salinity level, has strengthened the possibility that biochar applications may play an active role, especially in the treatment of soils with lower but hazardous electrical conductivity. In particular, it has been observed that 20 t/ha of biochar applications may be contributing to plant productin without the risk of salinity increment, comparing to higher dose.
