USE OF MULTILINEAR EVENTS SEQUENCING (MES)IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS ANALYSIS(M.Sc. Thesis)Muhammed ÖZKANGAZİ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYOctober 2006ABSTRACTThe value of traffic analysis is very important in traffic safety arena. In this thesisMultilinear Events Sequencing technique research for traffic accident analysis. Afterliterature search, accident theories investigated. The correlation between accidenttheories and accident analyzing methods studied. Turkish Traffic Accident Reports areanalyzed with content analyzing methodology. With statistical processes sufficiency ofTurkish Traffic Accident Reports Contents in Multilinear Events Sequencing analyzingtested and argued. Adequate analyzing data can not produced using Turkish TrafficAccident Reports Contents so other data sources investigated. The important subjects ofgathering data process determined during study. Specification of traffic analyzingcommission members defined. The lacking of legal aspects of traffic accident analyzingdetermined. And possible institutes for this process seek. Finally technical andmanagerial requirements of traffic accident analysis investigated.Science Code : 912.1.080Key Words : Traffic accidents, accident theories, accident analysis, multiple linearregressions, accidentPage Number : 80Adviser : Asist.
