Trends and patterns of poultry consumption in different regions of the world and Türkiye

The poultry sector is one of the most important industries, playing a vital role in closing the animal protein gap due to its ease, speed of production, and affordability. Moreover, health-conscious consumers are increasingly opting for poultry meat, a more affordable and lower-fat alternative to red meat. This thesis examines the underlying factors influencing poultry consumption, focusing on the national population, economic impacts, exports, urbanization, elderly population trends, and secondary education. The dataset comprises the comprehensive period from 1990 to 2021 and includes a broad range of countries, including Turkiye, enabling a comparative analysis of poultry consumption trends across different nationals and periods. The findings reveal a positive correlation between GDP per capita, population, and poultry consumption. Furthermore, the study highlights the consistent and positive impact of education. This research provides suggestions for policymakers and industry stakeholders on key factors that should receive greater consideration.
