Abstract (EN)

Second-hand product consumption has become a sector that is increasing day by day and is very popular today. Especially in terms of time saving and easy accessibility, most consumers prefer to shop for second-hand products through mobile applications.Consumers can sell the products they do not use from the mobile second-hand product shopping applications, or they can buy the products they want at a much more affordable price through these platforms. There are many studies in the academic literature about shopping for second-hand products. However, studies are mostly related to physical and online shopping for second-hand products. There is a limited number of studies on mobile applications where second-hand products can be purchased. In this study, the factors affecting the mobile second-hand product shopping of consumers living in Turkey and England were examined. In addition, it was also examined whether there were significant differences in repurchase intentions according to demographic data and other variables. The data was obtained from a total of 399 participants, 267 of whom were from Turkey and 132 from people living in England, using the online survey method. SPSS program was used in the analysis of the collected data. As a result of the analysis of the Turkey data, it has been found that opposition orientation, usefulness, trust and collateral/assurance factors have a significant effect on the intention to repurchase in second-hand product shopping from the mobile application. On the other hand, it was determined that the factors of price orientation, bargaining power, ease of use, need for originality and nostalgia did not have a significant effect on repurchase intention. As a result of the analysis of the UK data, it has been found that the factors of oppositional orientation, ease of use, nostalgia, trust and collateral/assurance have a significant effect on the intention to repurchase in second hand product shopping from the mobile application. On the other hand, it has been determined that the factors of price orientation, bargaining power, usefulness and need for originality do not have a significant effect on repurchase intention. Finally, additional analyzes in the study revealed what kind of differences the demographic variables and data on mobile applications where second-hand products can be purchased cause differences on repurchase intention.
