A method evaluate environmental impacts created by tourism architecture

A METHOD TO EVALUATE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS CREATED BY ARCHITECTURE OF TOURISM The main aim of this study is to develop a method which shows a way of considering environmental impact of tourism development during the planning stage at the local level, the following aims were reached with this method. These are:. to stress the importance of land use planning in tourism development. to improve land use planning for prevention of negative environmental impacts of tourism development in the destination area. to establish a relationship between environmental elements and local peculiarities of the destination area in order to analyze the environmental impacts of tourism development. to classify environmental elements and their relations systematically. to determine potential environmental impact of tourism development during the planning and design stage. to direct planners and designers in making research for prevention of the negative impact of tourism development, The first section is an introduction dedicated to the definition of the field and scope of the subject. In the second section, a relation was established between the scope of the subject and the concepts such as architecture of tourism, tourism settlement and land use planning from the architectural design point of view. In the third section, the impacts of tourism developments on environmental elements are classified systematically. In the fourth section, a list which was needed for the method was generated by using the following way.. The relation was established between sustainable tourism and the quality of physical and social environments in order to provide a definition of quality of the physical and social environment in the principle level. The relationship between environmental element and tourism development was examined carefully through research - based literature. The environmental impact of tourism development was discussed at the result of research in Uzungöl. The research study was about what the local people think about tourism development and how they want to change their social life and their physical environment.. Researches were determined for the protection of the environmental elements from the negative environmental impacts of the tourism development. In the fifth section, a method was suggested for the prevention of the negative environmental impacts of the tourism development. Through this method;. Negative environmental impact of tourism development can be prevent. Consideration of the negative environmental impacts of the tourism development will enable the architect to think about these issues systematically and will prevent or at least reduce possible environmental impact before it occurs. Classification of environmental elements is achieved in order to have a database which can be used for environmental impact assessment.
