Abstract (EN)

In this study we are going to dicuss Georgian image in Turkish Literature. Image is an indispensable phenomenon among the types of literature. There is a direct connection between the images in the literature and the formation of certain ideas, thoughts, facts and concepts in a society. Turkish and Georgian nations exchanged cultural, religious, social and artistic matters, as they lived in nearby geographies throughout history. Naturally, in the historical process, some ideas and thoughts about the opposite society have been formed in both communities. Undoubtedly, one of the areas where these ideas come to life is literature. Because literature is a kind of art in which the ideas formed in the mind of a society over a long period of time are reflected to the outside. In this context, the literature is most important area in which the Georgian image formed in the historical process in Turkish society can be investigated. Thus, this study examines the Georgian image in the two important types of Turkish Literature which is novel and travel articles. It is aimed to reveal the judgments about Georgians in the Turkish society's memory in the historical process and to strengthen the interaction between the two communities.
