Investigation of Turkish-Islamic mosques by the vision of bioharmology: A sample of Istanbul Historical Peninsula

In this study, it is aimed to determine the certification classes of the Turkish-Islamic mosques built in the Classical Period and the Late Period in the Historic Peninsula of Istanbul, by performing the BioharmologicalConformity Assessment (BUD), and to reveal the current deficiencies in today's conditions. In addition, some solution suggestions have been presented considering the inadequacies in order to restore the examined Turkish-Islamic historical structures to their former glory. The study covers the engineering and architectural features of the mosques within the scope of the study. It is based on the fact that the mosques included in the sample were opened for worship during and after the classical period (Hagia Sophia Mosque, Suleymaniye Mosque, Blue Mosque, Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Mosque) and have the structural features of the period they were built. In addition, a comparison of the examined mosques with the control group mosques (Şişli Mosque, Maltepe Cumhuriyet Mosque, Ataşehir Mimar Sinan Mosque) that were put into service after the Republic period was made using BUD certificate classes. In today's design and construction conditions, 529 examination issues have been determined, covering the engineering and architectural features that should be in a belief structure. According to the positive-negative and adequacy-inadequacy aspects of the mosques in the sample and control groups, the results were revealed by using the BUD technique, and the BUD certificate classes were determined. In conclusion; In terms of engineering features, the Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye and Sultanahmet Mosques are "Bronze Certified" and the Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Mosque "should be improved". In terms of architectural features, Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye, Sultanahmet Mosque and Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Mosques are "Bronze Certified". In terms of engineering features, the mosques built in the Republican period are "should be improved" by Şişli Mosque, "Bronze Certified" by Maltepe Cumhuriyet Mosque, and "Silver Certified" by Ataşehir Mimar Sinan Mosque. In terms of architectural features, Şişli Mosque is "Bronze Certified", Maltepe Cumhuriyet Mosque is "Silver Certified", and Ataşehir Mimar Sinan Mosque is "Gold Certified".
