Abstract (EN)
This thesis focuses on the analysis of the product-based foreign trade specialization of the member countries of the Turkic Council. The aim is to determine the foreign trade specialization of each member country, identifying the product or product groups in which they have a competitive advantage and excel in exports. In conducting the analysis of foreign trade specialization among the Turkic Council member countries, factors such as export data, import data, and trade balance of each country are taken into account. These data are utilized to evaluate the foreign trade potential of the countries. The Lafay and Net Trade Index values are employed in the study. According to the analysis results, it is determined that there is specialization and a competitive advantage in different products among the Turkic Council member countries. Turkey is strong in the textile and ready-made garment sector, Azerbaijan stands out in the export of energy resources and petroleum products, Kazakhstan has a competitive advantage in agricultural products and minerals, Kyrgyzstan specializes in natural resource-based products, and Turkmenistan is robust in the export of natural gas and petrochemical products. This specialization analysis provides crucial information for promoting trade and enhancing collaboration among the Turkic Council member countries. Based on these analysis results, member countries can formulate trade policies, increase export potentials, and evaluate cooperation opportunities in trade.
