Total quality management studies in Turkish Army Forces

By the philosophy of Total Quality Management (TQM), the businessenterprises are reducing the loses by providing the improvement of the service orproduct, increasing the activity and productivity, adapting the new technology by itsflexible structure, providing the pleasure of customer by producting service and productof good quality. However TQM, is increasing the addiction of the personel to the job byincreasing their motivation.Owing to positive use of TQM fort he business enterprises, especially at thelast decade TQM applications are started intensively at the private enterprises inTürkiye. Türkish Army Forces, which had made precedence at changing andinnovations to the other establishments and business enterprises, is started to apply thismanagement philosophy at some of its units that it could be as a model fort he othergovernment establishments at 21.11.1997 by the order of aplication of TQM which ispublished by General Staff Presidency throughout of its history. By this point of view,TQM applications at Turkish Army Forces are chosen as the subject of thesis.First of all, literature work was done at this research. For forminng theconceptual surrounding of TQM it was benefited from local and foreign resources, itwas brought up concepts and definitions related with TQM which was benefited fromsome of the statistical datas. At the application stage of the research TQM applicationsof the military unit which was chosen as model evaluated and public survey was appliedto the personel. The analysis of public survey was done at the surrounding of SPSS forWindows 11.0.At the result of the research; at the military unit which was studied asamodel, generally the personel had positive thoughts about TQM. Also the uppermanagement supports the TQM Works and they individually attend to those Works,studies are done for improving the quality. The workers attend to the applicationprocess of TQM and they are also encouraged to attend the applications. It wasconcluded that there is no obstacle for applying TQM at Turkish Army Forces.
