A poet director in Turkish cinema: Orhon Murat Arıburnu and his cinema

There have been many directors in Turkish Cinema, and some of them left a deep mark and carried our cinema forward. When these directors are considered, it is generally seen that they created a unique style. It is known that the first directors in Turkish cinema did not come from the world of cinema and most of them switched to cinema from professions other than cinema. Orhon Murat Arıburnu, whom we will focus on in our study, appears before us as a versatile artist who embodies many virtues. Although Arıburnu is mostly known as a poet in our cultural world, he was also interested in many branches of art, especially cinema. This study will focus on the life, artistic personality, cinema and themes of a director who has produced works in many fields such as poet, cinema and theater director, producer, actor, screenwriter, playwright, photographer and painter. In the study, Orhon Murat Arıburnu's films will be analyzed using the qualitative content analysis method and the themes he deals with extensively will be examined. According to this method, the films selected as samples of the study will be analyzed under headings such as narrative structure, cinematography and theme.
