Unification of services in Turkish social security law

Disability, old age and death are physiological risks that require a large or complete separation from active work life, which have long-term negative consequences. In case the insured person encounters these risks, it is very important to benefit from the insurances related to these risks in order to spend the rest of his life resting comfortably or not to completely lose the livelihood opportunities of those left behind in case of death. People spend a long period of their lives working in various jobs in order to have social security against these risks that they will face in the later stages of their lives. A person may have worked with an employment contract for one term, as an independent employee for one term, and as a public servant for another term. The unification of services has consequences in terms of entitlement to the services provided from old age, disability and death insurances, which are long-term insurances. When the premiums paid according to different insurance statuses are not sufficient on their own to benefit from the activities provided by long-term insurance, an assessment is made over the total period as if they were worked in a single status by combining them. In addition to domestic services, combining the periods of foreign service spent in foreign countries is also important for all Turkish citizens to achieve social security.
