Abstract (EN)

The concept of "gulbāng", which is a name for a type of prayer in Turkish-Islamic culture, has been examined in terms of its basic meaning, side meanings and term meaning in the first part of our study, which consists of three parts. In the concept analysis, the "origin information" of the word has been revealed by the dictionary studies and the determination of the words corresponding to it in their transfer from Persian sources to our language. By presenting examples from literary and historical texts in which the concept is mentioned, the place of the word in Turkish culture has been determined and it has been revealed with what meanings it has been met over time. In the second part, Gulbāng as a literary genre is evaluated in terms of its form, content and areas of performance. In the first step, the futuwwatnāmes were examined, and then the books of the religious orders were examined. In this section, the sect gulbāngs were compiled by examining the root texts as much as possible, the texts were mostly transcribed from manuscripts, and when necessary, additions were made from the studies on the field. In this section, the Akhí order and dervish lodges were examined and the execution areas of the texts were determined. In the third part of our study, the Gulbāng texts read in different areas of social life were compiled. In this section, many different fields such as military structure, performing arts, sports, street culture and education are examined.
