Abstract (EN)

The syntactic and stylistic properties of the partitive structures expressing a part or a quantity of a whole are examined in this study. First, several languages were selected from the languages of the world and approaches related to partitives were presented in these languages. In this study, the relationship between the ablative and the genitive case in Turkish is mentioned because they form the basis of the partitive structures. The functions of ablative case and genitive case in noun phrases were determined. Starting from this point, the partitives were treated as a type of noun phrase. It has been discussed whether the ablative and genitive case, which make up the partitive structures in Turkish, are congruence markers. It is explained by the reasons that the partitives marked with the ablative case are used more than the other. While these structures were being created, it was revealed which expressions could be in the subset. These two structures expressing partitives in Turkish were not satisfied. Structures that semantically express the part-whole are also suggested to be a partitive. In this study, the relationship between partitive structures and specificity was discussed. It has been shown that partitives are not always specific. In the last part of the thesis, examples and analyzes related to partitive structures were given.
