A comparison between the cyber security strategies of Turkey and the European Union

The advancement of technology day by day and the fact that it has become a part of every aspect of our lives has caused the threats in this field to increase day by day. After this situation, states had to create their own national cyber security policies and cyber security became a part of national security. Since the early 2000s, the European Union has developed some strategies in the field of cyber security and Turkey has tried to adapt to these strategies. In this sense, when the strategies developed by Turkey are examined, it is possible to see that the European Union has greatly affected the strategies developed by Turkey, especially in terms of legal practices. In order to adapt to the European Union's strategies, Turkey has made some changes in its legislation accordingly. The aim of this study is to examine the strategies of the two regions in detail and to examine how the European Union's cyber security strategy affects Turkey's cyber security strategies. In this study, it was concluded that Turkey took some of the European Union regulations as an example while developing its own cyber security strategy and made some regulations in this direction in the harmonization process.
