Turkey-Azerbaijan foreign trade relations and the importance of Azerbaijan trade culture

The relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan have a multidimensional nature due to their nature, and the fact that the two countries consider each other as "brothers" affects the present and future of these relations. One of the important aspects of this multidimensionality is the formation of bilateral economic relations between countries. Although mutual investments and foreign trade volumes in the economic relations between the two countries are not at the desired level, it can be mentioned that there has been a serious increase compared to the first period of Azerbaijan's independence. With the strategic partnership and investment agreements signed between the two countries to date, bilateral economic relations have moved to a different dimension. The purpose of this research is to give information about the political, economic and demographic structure of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to examine the foreign trade culture of Azerbaijan, to evaluate the foreign trade relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan and to measure the foreign trade intensity of Turkey and Azerbaijan. In this context, this research consists of three parts. In the first part of the research, general information about Azerbaijan is given. In the second part of the research, the foreign trade culture of Azerbaijan was examined in detail. In the third part, the foreign trade relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan were evaluated and the foreign trade density between Turkey and Azerbaijan was analyzed. As a result, the fact that the bilateral relations of Turkey and Azerbaijan are in the status of brotherhood causes them to have strategic partnerships in many fields such a political, military, cultural and economic between the two countries. Although political relations were more important than economic relations between the two countries in the first years of Azerbaijan's independence, economic relations have developed especially in the last 10 years, and foreign trade relations between the two countries have also developed through various initiatives.
