Abstract (EN)
In this research, it is purposed the methodological investigation of the postgraduate thesis (postgraduate and doctorate) written on education management between 2010-2016 and to contrubutie to the future of education management about the methodology. The research is designed on document analysis that is one of the qualitative approaches. The research population includes 152 doctoral dissertations and 990 graduate thesises published between the years 2010-2016; as the total number all the 1142 thesises are included into the sampling. The data is collected by the document analysis and "The Academic Publication Evaluation Form" which consists of 11 questions and developped by counselor and researcher is used as data collection tool. The most doctorate thesis were written in 2011, the most graduate thesis were written in 2010; the universities where the most doctorate thesis were written are ranged in order as Gazi, Marmara, Hacettepe and Atatürk Universities, the univerisities where the most graduate thesis were written are ranged in order as Gazi, Marmara, Uşak, Erciyes and Dokuz Eylül Universities; the increase or decrease of the postgraduate thesis are unstable within years; graduate thesis in 58 universities were produced between the years 2010 and 2016 but no doctorate thesis were produced in %69 of these 58 universities; it has been determined that qualitative and mixed methods are used intensively in both thesis types (doctorate and postgraduate). Scanning, Relational and Situation patterns are mostly used as the research pattern in postgraduate thesis; multiple research pattern is frequently used in doctorate thesis, "Stratified", "Simple-Random" and "Group" sampling methods are used intensively, almost all the thesis which sampling method is not determined are graduate thesis and it is found that %92,9 of those thesis are (n=26) qualitative, %7,1 of them are (n=2) quantitative thesis. The most used sampling group in 1142 thesis produced between the years 2010 and 2016 is "Teacher/Academician" (n=569, %49,9), the number of the thesis which are used sampling group is fairly small, the sampling size's avarage ( =610,37) of the thesis which are written by using mixed method are quite high as per the thesis written by using quantitative ( =428,30) and qualitative ( =42,96) methods; "Field Research", "Observation" and "Document Analysis" are mostly used as the data collection method in postgraduate thesis, multiple data collection method usage is quite small; "Scale", "Survey" and "Interviev Form" are mostly used as the data collection tool in postgraduate thesis, and it is found that almost all the thesis which data collection tool is not defined are graduate thesis."Factor Analysis", "Expert Opinion" and "Pilot Practise" are mostly used as the validity method in postgraduate thesis; %92,5 of the 40 thesis which validity method is not used in (n=37) are graduate thesis, %7,5 (n=3) are doctorate thesis; multiple validity methods are all used in graduate thesis; "Cronbach Alpha" is the most used reliability method (n=907,%79.4) in all years, multiple reliability method usage is quite little; and it is found that %95 of the 194 thesis which reliability method is not defined (n=189) are qualitative, %2,5 (n=4) are quantitative, %2,5 (n=4) are thesis produced by multiple methods. Multiple Statictical Method usage is quite high in 1142 thesis produced between 2010 and 2016 and "Descriptive Variance Analysis" method is the most used (n=415,%36.3) statistical method. %97,4 of 193 thesis which no statictical method is determined are "qualitative", %2,7 (n=4) are "quantitative", %0,5 (n=1) are "mixed method" studies. "Regression", "Path Analysis", "Meta Analysis" and "Grouping" method usage are quite small. This research exposes the methodogical tendency of postgraduate thesis on education management and also shows that there are methodological problems in the postgraduate thesis written on education management. Postgraduate Thesis do not include research patterns which give information in-depth and advance-level; important information such as sampling type, sampling method, sampling number is deficient; validity and reliability works are not cared enough and it is observed that statistical methods have narrow variety. It is hoped that this research will give a general point of view to the methodogical tendency of the thesis on education management, set light to the thesis which will be produced in the next years within their methodoligal way and illumines the future of this field. Key Words: Education Management, Methodology, Method, Methodology.
