The thematic content analysis of the misconceptions made in studies regarding science education

The aim of the research is to examine the studies made in respect to the misconceptions in Science Education within the scope of the years 2000-2022 with the use of thematic content analysis. In this regard, 350 studies made in Turkey were found from the platforms Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu (YÖK), ERIC and Google Scholar. The category, publishing year, method, sample, sampling method, data collection tool, findings, and recommendations of the 346 studies in the extent of the research were identified. When we look at these studies, it is seen that the most number of studies were done in 2011, the most survey method was used in the studies, the studies were applied to individuals at primary school level, the most appropriate sampling method was used in the studies, the concept test was used as the data collection tool the most, and the studies reached in the studies were examined. When the results are examined, it is seen that the most misconceptions are detected. Key Words: Science Education, Misconceptions, Thematic Content Analysis
