Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the self-efficacy levels of the Turkish Football Federation 2nd football referees depending on gender, classification status, refereeing period, licensed football playing status and province variables. The research group consisted of 204 referees, 21 of whom were female and 183 of whom were male, working as Provincial Referees, Regional Referees and Regional Assistant Referees in Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bursa and Kütahya provinces. The Referee Self-Efficacy Scale developed by Dithurbide, Myers, Gullien, and Feltz (2012) and the Turkish reliability and validity study conducted by Pulur and Karaçam (2017) was used as the scale. KruskalWallis H and Mann-Whitney U tests were applied to the data transferred to SPSS 20.0 package programme. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the level of self-efficacy between the referees who played football as a licensed referee and those who did not. However, it was seen that the self-efficacy level of the referees who play football as a licensed referee was higher than the referees who do not play football. According to the gender variable, a significant difference was found in favour of male referees. According to the classification variable, a significant difference was found in physical competence, game knowledge, pressure and HÖYÖ total scores. According to the duration of refereeing, a significant difference was found in the sub-dimensions of pressure, decision making, communication, game knowledge and HÖYÖ total scores. A significant difference was found in the sub-dimension of pressure according to the province variable. Keywords: Football Referee, Football, Referee Self-Qualification, Referee, Sport
