Abstract (EN)

Today, one of the most important social problems of the world is migration and immigration. The impact of immigration on the labour market in the host countries has been a much discussed issue, especially in recent decades. Turkey which hosting immigrants from 1923 till now became the largest country in hosting immigrants and refugees (According to UNHCR turkey key data 2018). The economic effects of immigration have become increasingly important within the turkey over recent decades but there is no general agreement on the impact of immigration on labor market. The aim of this thesis is to study the impact of immigration on the labour market of turkey: focus on unemployment rate. There is, so far, very little research on the immigration impact in turkey has been made. As a result of the research, the impact of immigration on the labour market is not one measurement of the immigration impact, there are lots of other factors which impact the labour market like, education, high skill labour, low skill labour, economic growth, age rate, geographical difference and technology. Key words: Immigration, Labor Market, Wages, Unemployment, Immigration Effects, Turkey.
