Historical movement of islamist ideology in Turkey and the Islam journal

This work that aims to analyze the content of Islamic Journal (1983 - 1998) in the context of Islamist Ideology consists of three parts. In the first part; within the discussion of `ideology? in progress, the characteristics and description of Islamism as an `ideology? are emphasized. In the same part, `existence? of Islamism as an ideology as a result of Islamic World?s encounter to the West and the characteristics of the first Islamist intellectual and movement that can be defined as the `basic resources of Islamism? are mentioned.In the second part that discussion of `Islamism? and the `Reasons for Rising of Islamism? which exist in the literature of Social Sciences are analyzed, with the assistance of conceptual outline that discussions involved provide, historical development of Islamism in Turkey is tried to expressed. This part that is about history and change of Islamism from Administrative Reform to present refers to Islamism as a part and result of Turkish modernization and socio economic change that Turkey underwent is dealt with in the context of its effects to Islamic ideology. Islamism is analyzed by dividing into three different periods in the processes that a lot of political and economical factors play role and Turkey?s efforts to be articulated to global market and social-historical dynamics that Islamism grounds on are tried to be explicated. Second part ends by the analysis of keynotes worked and basic characteristics of Islamism that is abstracted under three separate headings according to socio economic processes and periods in it.In the last part, religious order and congregation ties in Islamic Journal that should be considered as a result of rising of Islamism after 1980 in Turkey are the topics and general characteristics of these relations are emphasized. In this part, the content of Islamic Journal that is an appropriate text for the analyzing of Islamist ideology in Turkey is analyzed within the context of modernism, westernizing, economy and culture themes. Consequently, it is tried to both sampling of basic thesis and exchanging of Islamism in Turkey in Islamic Journal specially and analyzing of the content of Islamic Journal in the context of Islamist ideology.
