Abstract (EN)
For the last 30 years, the public-private partnership (PPP) model for the infrastructure economy has been sharing the risk distribution the costs with the private sector, due to their limited government budget, the benefits of the private sector's knowledge and technology, and their advantages of the macroeconomic effects, it is preferred by the governments to use both the central and local level. Especially in recent years, it has been intensively applied in infrastructure sectors such as initially then transportation, health and energy in Turkey. The realization of the transportation infrastructure with the PPP model, not only creates financial space for the governments but also if these projects are implemented correctly, it will also have a significant economic impact as it will facilitate economic development, trade and other factors. However, although there are many studies in the literature such as project comparisons, cost, efficiency and productivity analyses, studies on the economic impact of PPPs are simply limited. Because of that, it is tried to evaluate the impact of the transportation infrastructure and transportation infrastructure improvements have been carried out within the scope of the PPP model on economic growth and in what direction its performance is affected in study. In the transportation infrastructure sector of PPP, econometric analysis was conducted with the panel data analysis method on the impact on economic growth in Turkey and some developing countries covering the 1990-2020 periods. As a result of the analysis, the effect of the number of PPP projects in the transportation sector and the number of PPP projects in the airline infrastructure on economic growth was found to be positive direction and statistically significant in line with the literature.
