Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to search the graduate theses on lichens prepared until May 2023 in the database of the Council of Higher Education National Thesis Center by using different keywords specific to the field (lichen, lichens, lichenes etc. ) and the completion year of the determined theses, university name, institute, department, status of being supported by the project, graduate level (master's/doctorate), geographical region, province, gender of the graduate student, open access status of the thesis. It is an evaluation by examining according to parameters such as the subject, keywords, writing language, title of the thesis advisor, number of pages of the thesis. In this context, 245 postgraduate thesis studies were discussed. The first thesis was published in 1989 and the thesis study has been carried out every year until today. 195 of these theses are master's theses, 48 of them are doctoral theses and 2 of them are specialization thesis. Most postgraduate theses (16 theses) were prepared in 2019. The highest number of theses were published in Ankara University (31 theses). The majority of theses are in the institutes of science (217 theses), in the biology department (170 theses),Prof. Dr. It was concluded that, under the guidance of titled advisors (104 theses), female researchers (139 theses) were written with a range of 51-100 pages (98 theses), in Turkish (234 theses) and using the lichen keyword (153 thesis) at most. With this research, the history and status of postgraduate theses prepared in Turkey on lichens, which are systems based on the obligatory symbiotic association of some specific algae/cyanobacteria and some specific fungi, will be examined by considering many relevant parameters. With the evaluation of the findings/results obtained, it is thought that it will be an important reference for bibliometric research and evaluations in different living groups in the coming years.
