Abstract (EN)
It is necessary to direct the strategies that will be applied in the future to occur by evaluating the strategies of Turkey applied in development process, and their political and economic results. By taking into consideration the development strategy aims in the Republic period, it is important to examine the process chronologically to form future strategies. Since development phenomenon is associated with economic, social, political and many other fields, external growth model which is subject to the thesis, in consideration of its results, appeared as a model which integrates country to global system. The thesis is based on putting forward the relationship of the very external dependency of Turkey?s economic external expansion and interrogating the success of fully external expansion model which was substituted instead of internal growth model. The growth phenomenon in Turkey was achieved by a strategy which would make an imported substitutions production process in the fields where the basic needs of public would be fulfilled in the leadership of government by giving place to the investments that gave priority to the increase in the welfare of the society. In this process which is based on the protection of internal industrialization, the developing economy of Turkey was protected against external shocks until 1980. When it was 1980, governors of that period who associated the blockage in social and economic structure of Turkey with internal combined economy model made a transition to a new strategy which would make the economy fully external with the decisions in January, 24th 1980 by applying the liberalization policies. This transformation was effective on especially external trade, foreign debts and foreign capital admittance to country, and brought about radical changes in the economic, political and social fields. It is a necessity to learn efficiency of Turkey?s externality strategy policies and reflections of its results on our economic development to determine the policies which will be followed in the future.
