Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of the study, bee bread samples were collected from 11 different provinces of Turkey. The biological activity, antimicrobial activity and DNA damage effects of these samples were examined. Within the scope of biological activity, total phenolic substance amount, DPPH analysis, CUPRAC analysis and FRAP analyses were performed and according to the analysis results, sample number 10 was determined to be the most effective sample in antioxidant activity analyses. Within the scope of antimicrobial activity, antimicrobial effects of the samples were examined on 6 bacteria and 4 fungi. According to the antimicrobial analysis results obtained, it was determined that all samples were effective, but especially the 8th and 9th samples created a zone diameter greater than nystatin against some fungi. Plasmid DNA damage repair effect of 11 different bee breads was determined by studies conducted on commercial plasmid DNA (pBR322). According to the analysis results, it was determined that propolis samples damaged plasmid DNA and did not repair plasmid DNA damaged by Fenton.
