Detection of insurance fraud problems in Turkey and solution proposals

Although the recent research in today's literature focuses on studies that use technology and data analytics to prevent insurance fraud, in practice, technology only provides us with preliminary information about the suspected fraud. In this context, to protect honest policyholders, the micro and macro scale of the resource that is allocated to perform the efficiency fraud, fraud prevention and deterrence after the detection of the most critical factors that need to be made to ensure the data held electronically with increasing with technological developments as a result of interpretation of big data that pass through a sound legal infrastructure, it is believed. The subject discussed within the scope of the study has been examined in four sections. In the first part, the definition of insurance is mentioned and its devolopments in the World and in our country, and insurance principles and types are emphasized. In the second part, the situation will be determined by focusing on "fraud", examining the reasons why people tend to commit fraudulent acts, and by including the determinations made by our country's Insurance Fraud Prevention Bureau, especially in "Fraud Types in Land Vehicle İnsurance". In the third part, findings related to the surveys conducted to measure the situation and process regarding insurance loss adjusters and insurance researchers in the insurance sector and insurance abuses specific to the insured/citizen are given regarding the purpose and method of the research. In the fourth chapter, it is aimed to contribute with the conclusions to be drawn from the relavent survey and research, with the suggestions to be given in terms of preventing insurance fraud in a cases in a our country.
