The artistic of the gender concept in Turkey abstract

Gender, as a result of the settlement of socio-cultural codes, becomes the whole of behaviors that we are not even aware of which go deep into our behaviors by becoming immanent with our daily life experiences. These codings have been reflected in the subconscious of the individual in institutions such as family, school and government, starting from the very first moment and gradually increasing. The formation process of gender inequality has been investigated with the researches and philosophy, the place of women artists in the history of art has been researched. The protest formation of the 1960's, feminist art and the reactions to the use of the female body as a commodity are given examples from the art pratices of the artists who transformed their own body into art objects. In the first part, the difference between gender and gender inequality are looked at from a historical perspective. The thesis of the French Philosopher Simone de Beauvoir, who deepened her studies on gender inequality, "One is not born, but rather becomes, a women" is emphasized and the researches of the thinker are used. The work of Judith Butler, one of the 21 st century political philosophy philosophers, with her work titled "Gender İnequality" were utilized. The concepts of "gender problems" mentioned in the book "Masculine Domination" by the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, who devoloped the concepts of Symbolic Violence and Habitus, were examined. From the work of his contemporary 20th century philosopher Michel Foucault, the concepts of "disciplinary society" and "docile bodies" are emphasized. In the second part, the effects of the concept of gender on art were investigated through artists and their works. The expressions of women artists perspectives on art in their own period are exemplified by visuals. Continuing her Works in different disciplines such as an activist, feminist, painter, sculpture, performance and video, Canan's language of expression in her works is detailed, the interview with the artist on 10.04.2022 is presented. In the third part, the process of creation of the works created in undergraduate and graduate degree programme in Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University the Faculty of Bodrum Fine Arts majority of sculpture were investigated.
