Abstract (EN)
Within the increasing international competition conditions, cultural interaction, managing cultural diversities and solving problems that result from the cross-cultural working environment in accordance with the hosts play an important role in the success of service businesses. This situation is gaining more and more importance in labor-intensive tourism industry, one of the most important economic development sources during recent years.Lack of cultural practices for the adoption of foreign employees in enterprises and consensus on its? significant effects on the performance of employees makes it a requirement to examine foreign employees in terms of the tourism sector.In this context, the aim of the study is; To develop and propose an intercultural compatible profile for the selection of a successful, potential employee in an environment that hosts the foreign employee and an effort to determine the current state.To carry out the purpose of the study, a detailed review of the literature was made and employees of the enterprises concerned with expatriate profile were examined by using scales of Intercultural Sensitivity Scale (ISS), and Socio-Cultural Adaptation (SCAS) and it has been tried to determine the current level of success with a simple method of performance appraisal for defining the individual's cognitive style for the expected performance. As a result, it is aimed to contribute international human resources management area, by providing an additional dimension for selection and evaluation process of the foreign workers.Multi-stage sampling method was used to collect data by the help of the scales on 416 workers between the dates of 1st July to 31st August 201. General validity, reliability and the required analyzes for the scales used in the study are also carried out. The data was analyzed by the help of "percent", "frequency", "independent samples t-test", "t-test for related measures," "single-factor analysis of variance (ANOVA) analysis", "Tukey (HSD) test", "correlation "," simple and multiple linear regression "analysis.According to the findings of the study, both the performance and the level of acculturation of employees determined to have significant differences according to some individual characteristics (age, level of education, experience in the industry) and departments.As a result of the Analyzes performed to test the developed research hypothesis; cultural sensitivity and adaptability level has a significant effect on employees' job performances and it was proved that the effect increases when the cultural adaptation is evaluated as a whole by the help of correlation and regression analyzes.Research findings highlighted the importance of this effect that related to cultural convergence and suggestions have been made on the subject.Keywords: Expatriates, Cultural Diversity, Work Success, Hotel Enterprises
