The approaches about building audit system in Turkey

Earthquakes are one of the most effective and destructive disaster in the world. It is animportant risk for the societies and the countries in the world.Although the effect of the earthquake to the humans is not direct. The indirect effect of themare highly dangerous. The danger is caused as a result of the constructions which are damagedor collapsed by the movement of the earth during the earthquake as they can?t show theappropriate resistance. It is not the humans that give harm to themselves but the constructionsthat are not built strong by the humans.The earthquakes that occur recently are also effective in Turkey as in the world. Turkeywhich places in seismic zone is harmed by the earthquakes but doesn?t take any precautions.There are also similar countries and similar urbanisation in the world and the main reason forthis is unconcern.Most buildings that are built in our country are weak constructions against the mostearthquakes. The main reasons for this are the lack of control and not obeying the rules. Thissituation causes the loss of property and also the loss of lives.Although the notation ?building audit? appeared long time ago especially the latestearthquakes that happened in Turkey which caused a big loss caused building audit and thesystems that supply this to be reconsidered.The amount of the loss that occur after earthquakes is the result of the poorly planned anduncontrolled built and urbanisation. Designing the constructions appropriately and applyingthem in a correct way will prevent the earthquakes and other natural events to become adisaster.The ambition in this work is to explain the notion building audit which is needed to be appliedperfectly during the construction and the usage of the buildings and also to determine themissing parts while applying the system by studying both the systems in the world and thesystem in Turkey.First of all in this work the history of building audit is studied. Then some different countriessystems are studied and information about Turkey?s system is given.
