Abstract (EN)

Recently, the increase in youth unemployment is an important problem in our country too as in other countries. Therefore, the youth unemployment in also Turkey like in many countries is among the important issues that need to be resolved. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the dimensions of unemployment problem in the higher educated young and highlight the causes of this according to the unemployed and employer parties in Turkey, in particular Kastamonu province. In accordance with this purpose; firstly the situation of the unemployed in the higher educated young in Turkey, was revealed with the help of the data of institutions such as ILO and the OECD. Then field research was conducted on the subject to reveal the causes of youth unemployment in Turkey by analyzing the Kastamonu province labor market selected as the application field of study. Interview method which is a qualitative research method has been used in this field research. In this context, while semi-structured interviews were executed with employers or employers' representatives who were considered as the parties of the issue, the focus group interviews were conducted with the young unemployed and the results were interpreted by summarizing. It is considered that the revealing of the causes of unemployment problem in the higher educated young in Turkey by consulting with the parties themselves will be an important guide for policy makers in solving the problem.
