Comparison of Turkmen Turkish's vocabulary with Chagatai Turkish's vocabulary

In history, Chagatai Turkish has spread over wide geographies and has been a written language used in the regions where Turkmens live. The fact that Turkmen Turkish is located in the east compared to the speakers of other Oghuz dialects has caused it to be affected in terms of language characteristics. In this study, the vocabulary of today's Turkmenistan Turkmen Turkish has been compared with the vocabulary of the Chagatai written language by compiling from various works. Twelve works belonging to the Chagatai period were scanned and words living in today's Turkmen Turkish were determined. The words in the works written in Chagatai Turkish were determined in today's Turkmen Turkish dictionaries, and the words living in today's Turkmen Turkish are shown. The aim of our study is to compare the vocabulary of Chagatai Turkish, which is a historical written language, and Turkmen Turkish, which is a contemporary language, and to determine the vocabulary of Chagatai Turkish in today's Turkmen Turkish. Our work; It consists of Introduction, Comparative Vocabulary and Conclusion. In the introductory part, the Chagatai Turkish, the information about the period in which it was used, and its situation with the Turkmen Turkish are explained.In this section, the development of Turkmen Turkish and the distinctive dialect features of Chagatai and Turkmen are presented.After this section, the vocabulary between the two dialects has been examined mutually under the title of Comparative Vocabulary.In the conclusion part, the phonetic features and phonetic changes between the two dialects were evaluated in line with the information we obtained from our comparative vocabulary study.
