Opinions of the administrators in primary schools in Tuşba district on general hygiene in the school

Cleaning, hygiene and personal hygiene habits have an important role in maintaining and improving the physical and mental health of the individual. Especially in primary schools, the fact that the number of children is high and the basic gains of these people in these schools are important in terms of hygiene. In this context, our study aims to determine the opinions of the administrators working in the primary schools in the district of Tusba on the hygiene phenomenon in their schools. A survey was conducted to obtain this determination. In addition, interviews were held with the persons in charge in the institutions. In addition to these methods, observation method was used and as a result of all methods used, the opinions of the administrators on the hygiene phenomenon and the hygiene status in schools were discussed. In our research, it was found that schools, classrooms, corridors, toilets, libraries, toilets were inadequate and not clean enough. There are recycling bins in the schools but there are trash cans in the classrooms and corridors. It was observed that the gymnasium, libraries, laboratories and canteens are not hygienic enough. In the researched schools, it was observed that the teachers ventilated the classes in general and the gardens were generally clean. Keywords: cleaning, hygiene, school hygiene
