Abstract (EN)

The most important expense in the production of a leather garment is the raw material, that is the finished leather. Loss of raw materials and time due to any pattern or sewing mistake brings additional costs to the leather apparel company. By using three-dimensional (3D) imaging and simulation programs, it is possible to minimize the loss of time, labor and raw material by ensuring that the prepared garment patterns are displayed on various virtual mannequins before sewing samples. The lack of sufficient information on leather material in the libraries of existing software prevents the use of these software in leather apparel companies. In this study, the properties of different types of leather and fabrics used in production are determined with certain standards and FAST (Fabric Assurance by Simple Testing) system, interpreted and entered in the database of Assyst 3D Vidya program. The 2D dress patterns formed in the Assyst CAD program were transferred to the 3D Vidya program, and dress simulations were performed on the virtual mannequin by selecting the new defined materials. The dresses and simulations created from these materials were evaluated by the jury and the usability of the program in leather apparel was discussed. It has been seen that Vidya 3D program can simulate model and material behaviours realistically but it does not demonstrate the drape parameter exactly, and the software should be improved for this direction.
