Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, the properties searching for a construction material are economical, strenght and aesthetical. Furthermore, positive effects to the human health and the environement are find enough usage areas. In fifteen thermal power stations are located in Turkey, approximately 55 million tons of low quality lignite coal is burned and fly ashes which produced by the burn process of these kind of coals are storing in the thermal power stations storages without control. Because of transportation of fly ash with influence of wind, ground and upper ? ground waters is effecting the environment and the human health in negative. In this study fly ash used as main material which is shows pozzollanic property and described as a waste material. Studies made about the fly ash as a binder material against to cement, lime and gypsum known as a standard binder materials. In experimental studies Yatagan Thermal Power Station fly ash used which has a high pozzolanic activity and lime ratio, getting results of mechanical strenghts by compressive strangth and bending strength test about produced specimens dimensions are 4x4x16 cm. which includes fly ash, lime and clay mixes. After the experimental studies maximum bending strength was found 2,39 MPa and maximum compressive strength was found 10,01 MPa. Eventually mechanical strength of the specimens increased depend on increase of the fly ash ratio in results and the pozzolanic fly ash could be use as a binder material as final result.
