Abstract (EN)

Psychoanalysis is one of the most commonly used approaches to modern and even post modern times. In the content of this thesis, the psychoanalytic approach is dealt with in detail and its definition is made from different perspectives. It has also focused on the reflection of the psychoanalytic approach on literary works. It has been shown how psychoanalysis can be useful in literature and in analyzing literary works. On the one hand, psychoanalysis bridges the reader and the character, on the other hand, it gives a clue as to how the mood is in creating characters. It is seen that the internal world of writing is kept light during the preparation stages of the thesis. The novel, The Kite Runner, in this thesis was written by Khaled Hosseini, an Afghan-origin writer. Hosseini, in The Kite Runner, presents how and where the families migrate due to the political difficulties, how they try to survive in Afghanistan. The purpose of this thesis is to reveal the effect of the psychoanalytic approach on the characters in this novel, especially child characters. Khaled Hosseini as an Afghan-American author effectively places his own inner world into the novel and while presenting the characters, it has been focused on the author's life.
