Abstract (EN)

The study area is located in the SE Anatolia along the Border Folds within the Authoctonous units. In the region the basement rocks are formed by allochton carbonates and ophiolitic rocks which display a complex structure and Maastrichtian- Pliocene otochtonous rocks overlying them. The study is carried out on the Gaziantep, Fırat and Şelmo formations outcropping between İbrahimli and Uğruca villages. During the study, 35 samples have been collected from 5 stratigraphic sections and 2 point sampling. After the exemination of the samples, 9 genera and 29 species of planktonic foraminifera have been determined. Using the stratigraphic distribution of these species a detailed chronostratigraphic interpretation of the sequence has been carried out. 4 genera and 3 species of ostracoda and 23 genera of benthic foraminifera have been determined during the study. Based on the lithological properties of all formations and the properties of ostracoda and planktonic foraminifera it has been concluded that the sequence was deposited usualy in epinerithic, particularly infranerithic marine environment. Key words: Planktonic foraminifera, Stratigraphy, Eocene, Gaziantep.
