Abstract (EN)

Digital game addiction is of interest to many people, from children to young people. Games have been transferred to personal spaces and digital environments with the development of technology and the increase in urbanization. Digital games are played by people for many different purposes. While some play these games to evaluate their free time, some to have fun, others to experience a sense of competition, to gain material and spiritual gain, and to avoid some negative life experiences. When we look at the literature on the subject, it is seen that studies on digital game addiction are generally conducted on middle school and high school students, but no such studies are found based on university students. However, it has been determined that studies examining digital game addiction together with social anxiety are quite limited. In this study we present, we will first try to explain what digital game addiction is in the conceptual part and how this situation turns into addiction. Then, the concept of social anxiety will be opened in parentheses and its relationship with digital game addiction will be stated.
