Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between dating violence and self-esteem and attachment styles in university students. In addition, according to demographic variables, whether there is a significant difference between the level of dating violence, self-esteem and attachment styles in university students was also examined. This research was conducted with the relational screening model. The Relationship Scales Questionnaire (PSA) was used to determine the attachment styles of the people who participated in the research. The validity and reliability study of this measurement tool was carried out by Sümer and Güngör (1999). In order to determine the dating violence levels of the participants, the 'Dating Violence Attitude Scale (FSTS)' prepared by Terzioğlu et al. (2016) was used. Scale (RBSS)' was used. The sample of the research consists of 200 university students who continue their education at Istanbul Gelişim University in 2021. The data obtained within the scope of the research were analyzed with the SPSS 22 computer-based statistical program. Cronbach Alpha analysis was used to determine the reliability. Inferential analyzes in the research were made according to principal components method. Normality analysis was performed for the relevant data and it was determined that the data were normally distributed. While T test and Anova analyzes were used for the intergroup comparison findings, correlation and regression analysis analyzes were used to reveal the relationships of the scales. According to the research findings, a negative significant relationship was found between the sub-dimensions of dating violence and self-esteem in university students. At the same time, a significant relationship was found between dating violence and attachment levels. Finally, there was a moderate positive relationship between self-esteem and secure attachment, while a low negative relationship was found between anxious and avoidant attachment and self-esteem.
