Abstract (EN)

This study examined the relationship between the satisfaction levels of university students' and educators' with the swimming facility and their exercise addiction. In this context, a quantitative research method was used, and the relational survey model was adopted. The study population consisted of university students and educators engaged in swimming in Edirne, Türkiye. The sample of the study consisted of 200 university students and educators who were actively engaged in exercise at swimming facilities and participated voluntarily, selected through a convenience sampling method. The data collection tools used in the study were the Personal Information Form, Exercise Addiction Scale, and Sports Facilities Customer Satisfaction Scale. The data obtained within the scope of the study were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software. To determine whether there were statistically significant differences between two groups, the Mann–Whitney U test was used; for comparisons among more than two groups, the Kruskal–Wallis test was employed. In addition, the Spearman correlation test was conducted to examine the relationship between exercise addiction and satisfaction levels with the swimming facility. As a result of the analyses conducted, it was found that gender, duration of gym membership, frequency of exercise, and reasons for starting exercise had a significant effect on exercise addiction. Regarding customer satisfaction with sports facilities, significant effects were observed in relation to satisfaction with physical appearance, regularity and frequency of exercise, reasons for starting exercise, and the financial resources allocated for exercise. A statistically significant but weak positive correlation was found between the total scores of the Exercise Addiction Scale and the Sports Facilities Customer Satisfaction Scale. It was concluded that as satisfaction with the swimming facility increased, individuals' levels of exercise addiction also increased slightly but significantly.
