Abstract (EN)
This research aims to determine the participation levels of university students in folk dance activities and to examine the effect of this participation on their recreational leadership behaviors and self-confidence levels. In the research, a descriptive relational screening model was used because it aimed to determine the current situation. The population of the research consists of 45,322 students studying in faculties, colleges and vocational schools affiliated with Pamukkale University. The sample group consists of a total of 631 students studying at Pamukkale University. As a data collection tool, it consists of three parts; Demographic Information, Recreational Leadership Scale, Self-Confidence Scale Survey form was applied. SPSS 24 package program was used to analyze and evaluate the data obtained from the measurement tools. As a result of the study, it was revealed that university students' participation in folk dance activities had a positive effect on their recreational leadership behaviors and self-confidence levels. Recreational leadership behaviors of university students who participate in folk dance activities are higher than those who do not participate. There is a relationship between university students' recreational leadership behaviors and self-confidence levels. The self-confidence levels of university students who participate in folk dance activities are higher than those who do not participate. There is a significant difference in the age variable of university students' recreational leadership and self-confidence levels. There is a significant difference in terms of recreational leadership behaviors and self-confidence levels between students who participate in folk dance activities and those who do not. There is a significant difference in terms of gender variable in the recreational leadership and self-confidence levels of university students. There is a significant difference in the recreational leadership and self-confidence levels of university students in terms of the year of folk-dance variable. There is a significant difference in the recreational leadership and self-confidence levels of university students in terms of the activity type variable.
