The Industrialists` perception about the university-industry cooperation (Gaziantep in organized industrial a case study area, Gaziantep Turkey)

Ill ABSTRACT THE DETERMINATION OF THE INDUSTRIALISTS' s PERCEPTION ABOUT THE UNIVERSTY - INDUSTRY COOPERATION (Gaziantep İn Organized Industrial A Case Study Area, Gaziantep TURKEY) By AKÇİ Yavuz M.S. in Educational Sciences Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Hikmet Y. İn this research, taking into account of the situation of the industrial institutions; the relationship, the frequency of the relationship of the industrial institutions are being studied on. The descriptive method is used during the processes of the research. The universe of the research consists of the industrial institutions activate (take place) in Gaziantep and those registered to Gaziantep industry room. While deciding on the sample that would be taken from the universe of the research, the membership of the institutions are controlled and the number of members are taken regarding to the sectors. Then the shares of each sector in the total are found using the rate / proportion method. The research questions are sent by faxing to 900 members of Gaziantep industry room; 81 of these members replied the questions andIV sent the answers to us. 79 public surveys have also been applied to make the example represent the universe of the research and the other change able except the sectors these institutions are chosen randomly. The data were supplied by using the measurement of "The Determination of the industrialist's Perception about the University - industry Cooperation" which is improved by the researcher. ANOVA analization has been done to analyse if the values and descriptive changeables are meaningful differentiative fators in the perception of the opininos related to the application level of universty - industy cooperation apporoach. i :, The results of the research can be listed as the ones below regarding to the public surveys. The owners or the directors of the industries are found: not to get benefit from the university in the pursuit of the new developments; not to apply to the help of university when they wont to make reforms; not to get benefit from universities except the assurance of profession expert and testing / measurement. They are also found to have difficulties in having relations with the universty and wont to have more close relationships.
