Abstract (EN)

This study was examined the relationship among intolerance toward uncertainty, mindfulness levels and coping with stress strategies of senior undergraduate students. In this research, convenient and criterion sampling method was utilized to determine the sample group consisting of senior undergraduate students (n=352) studying at Yeditepe University in the 2020-2021 academic year.Personal Information Form, Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale-Short Form, Mindful Attention Awareness Scale and Coping Styles Inventory were utilized to collect data from the sample group.The analysis of all the data in this research was obtained by using the Spss 25.0 program. In line with the analysis results, while ıt has been found out that there is a significant relationship between the intolerance toward uncertainty and the helpless approach sub-dimension, one of the coping with stress strategies.It was found between no significant relationship the levels of mindfulness and the helpless, the submissive, the optimistic and the to seeking social support approaches sub-dimension, one of the strategies of coping with stress. It was found out that there is a significant relationship between mindfulness levels and the self-confident approach sub-dimension, which is one of the coping with stress strategies. No significant relationship was found between the levels of mindfulness and intolerance toward uncertainty. There was no significant difference among intolerance toward uncertainty, mindfulness levels and coping with stress strategies, with respect to the age of the students, the program they studied, whether they did research on the fields they were educated or not, and their overall grade point averages. It was not observed significant difference between intolerance toward uncertainty, mindfulness levels, and self-confident, helpless, optimistic, and seeking social support approach sub-dimension, one of the coping with stress strategies with respect to gender. The submissive approach sub-dimension, one of the coping with stress strategies, demonstrated a significant difference with respect to gender, and it was found that the submissive approach levels of male participants were higher than female participants. The research findings and limitations discussed in the relevant literature are presented as suggestion for future researches.
